District Vision
TCSD #1 provides our students with a premier educational program. Our thoroughly prepared graduates transition effectively into post-secondary education and the work force, as well as becoming active and productive citizens. The district's comprehensive educational process begins with the students' first formal education and concludes with tangible and/or visible demonstrations of their exemplary academic knowledge, critical thinking and effective communication skills.
Comprehensive in scope, but personal in delivery, the educational experience and high expectations provide challenging opportunities for individual achievement. The curriculum of the school district is based upon relevant and nationally recognized standards for academic excellence. A wide range of extra-curricular activities enhances the academic program. Instructional practices actively engage students, are differentiated to meet student needs, and are linked to authentic assessment.
Essential resources ensure optimal teaching and learning environments. Recruitment practices attract exemplary teachers, while district programs and resources are devoted to the retention, development and support of an unsurpassed educational staff. Professional development experiences designed to support the translation of research into best practice promotes continuous classroom, department, and school improvement across the district. The financial sustainability of the district is a responsibility shared by all.
A caring culture that embraces diversity, fosters respect and builds trust is imperative to the realization of our vision. This collaborative environment is founded on relationships and communication among students, educational staff, parents, and the Teton County community.
