Real Estate in Victor is more affordable than in Jackson, making it possible to create a permanent home in Teton Valley. However, many residents of Victor work in Jackson and must bear driving the steep Teton Pass that is frequently subject to closures in the winter. If closures should occurr, it is possible to get to Jackson from the south via the Snake River Canyon. Whichever route you choose, you won't be lacking in scenery.
Despite the half hour to 45 minute drive to Jackson, Victor residents throughrouly enjoy their town. Most residents welcome the serenity and quiet, small town atmosphere that Victor provides as a much needed respite from the hustle and bustle of Jackson. Victor also provides excellent access to a multitude of outdoor sports such as hiking, biking, fishing, and skiing at Grand Targhee Ski Resort and Teton Pass. Farming and gardening are also more conducive in Victor than it is in Jackson, which pleases those trying to run a self-sustaining household. Victor has cafes, restaurants, bars, and a grocery store. However, many residents choose to do their grocery shopping in Jackson on their way home from work.
